“I Just Woke Up”

I just woke up from a dream that all children in the world had full bellies, a roof over their heads and parents who gave them unconditional love.

So I thought I’d memorialize my dream of life on Earth the way it should be, not tomorrow, but TODAY, by jotting down some of my favorite quotations about my favorite subjects from some of my favorite people:

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Mahatma Ghandi, b. 1869

“It isn’t enough to talk about peace, one must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it, one must work for it.”

Eleanor Roosevelt, b. 1884

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”

Mahatma Ghandi, b. 1869

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

Mother Theresa, b. 1910

“We must develop the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of this power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this about ourselves, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”

“I had a dream that in my lifetime, humankind will be all about peace and love, and no longer about war and hate, through faith and the amazing grace of God.”

Martin Luther King, Jr., b. 1929
